Once again the Leprechauns will be invading Chester, New Jersey. Yes… the Knights of Columbus, Council 5410 and St. Lawrence the Martyr Church will hold their annual St Patrick’s Dinner Dance. Traditional Irish Dinner and Refreshments …..and  Music by the Peter McKiernan’s Irish American Band. The event will take place at The St. Lawrence Parish Hall on Saturday March 6, 2010, and will start at 6PM to 11:30PM. Come and enjoy the festivities, great Irish food and real Irish music! There will be a 50-50 raffle to benefit the St. Lawrence Scholarship Fund and Local Area Charities. Tickets are $35.00 per person

In honor of Women’s History Month, Project Self-Sufficiency will present “Eleanor Roosevelt:  A New Woman” on Thursday, March 11th at 7:00 p.m.   The presentation will be given by Rene Goodwin, an actress, singer and songwriter who has performed numerous times at both the National Archives and at the White House Visitors Center.  The event is free and open to the public but reservations are suggested.   The presentation will take place at the agency’s Community Education Center, which is located at 127 Mill Street in Newton.

Ark.  Enjoy good food for a great cause thanks to several upcoming “Dine to Donate” fundraising days, where restaurant patrons will have a portion of their bill automatically donated to the limited-admission facility to assist in caring for its homeless dogs and cats.  Go to

Morris Habitat is leading a week-long campaign in March to collect at least $2500 from local residents. This amount will pay for approximately 10 emergency shelter kits for the people in Haiti. The week of March 7-March 13 will mark the “Help Morris Habitat for Humanity Help Haiti Week.” In a group effort to assist families in Haiti who were affected by the devastating 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck near Port-au-Prince on Jan. 12 rebuild their lives, the Morris Habitat ReStore is urgently asking for donations all that week.

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 10-07 will be conducting an “About Boating Safely” course for three consecutive Tuesday evenings beginning on Tuesday, March 2nd, and continuing on March 9th and March 16th, from 7:00pm to 9:30 pm.  This course is sponsored by the Morris Hills High School Adult Education Program and will take place at Morris Hills High School. 520 W. Main St., Rockaway, N.J., 07866, Room 120. The fee for the course is $69.  For further information, contact the Morris Hills High School Adult School Office at 973-664-2295.
