SUMMER IS FINALLY HERE!

Teen girls between the ages of 12 – 17 are invited to participate in the Girls Unlimited Summer Camp at Project Self-Sufficiency.   The program is ideal for teen girls who may be struggling with the demands of adolescence, and those who may need more support in developing healthy lifestyle choices and appropriate peer relationships.  Campers will participate in exciting fitness activities, and work on other projects to develop peer relationships and self-confidence.  Participants will also form leadership skills, explore career options, and learn techniques for stress management, health and wellness.  Lunch will be provided.  The camp will run from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. in two sessions, July 19 – 30 and August 9 – 20, and is offered free of charge.  Space is limited and advance registration is required.  Registration for only one of the two-week sessions is permitted.  Limited transportation assistance is available for eligible participants. Participation in the Girls Unlimited Summer Camp is limited to one two-week session per individual.  Limited transportation assistance is available for eligible participants.  Call Project Self-Sufficiency at 973-940-3500 to register.

Are you interested in a cultural experience right in your own home?  Do you want to learn about the French culture without the expense of going to France?  Then read on for the experience of a lifetime!

 

There will be 29 students (ages 14 – 17) plus 2 adult teachers from France visiting our area from July 6 to July 30, 2010.  This will be accomplished through Club Eductour Voyages/ O.C.L.L.A.A.  whose goal is to form French and American friendships and cultural understanding through Homestay Programs.  Be a Host Family and make an impact on the life of a French visitor while learning about their culture.  All students and teachers are fully insured:  health, accident and liability.

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 10-07 will be conducting an “About Boating Safely” course  on Sunday, July 25th  from 8:30am till 4:30pm.  The class is sponsored by the Hopatcong Fire Department and will take place at Fire Department #3, 43 Hopatchung Road, Hopatcong, NJ 07843.
